| Fail Safe (2000) | Imdb | AMG | Well, I thought this was the 1964 version. In fact it is a Year 2000 version. Of course I was fooled by the fact that it was B&W. Fortunately it is still a good drama with Richard Dreyfuss as the President. This originally aired Live on American TV. A US Bomber is accidentally sent to drop a bomb on Moscow. This film then shows the story unfolding. |
| Fifth Element (1997) | Imdb | AMG | Excellent transfer to DVD. The sound/picture is superb. This film was directed by Luc Besson and stars Milla Jovovich who plays Leeloo, Bruce Willis as Korben Dallas and Gary Oldman as Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg. A special mention must go to Chris Tucker who plays Ruby Rhod in this his 6th film. Life is threatened with evil and only the Fifth Element (Leeloo) helped by Korben Dallas can save the day. The SF is tongue in cheek and all the better for it. This is a future with flying cars, ugly shape shifting aliens and powerful weapons. Could you ask for more? The costume design was by Jean-Paul Gaultier - which explains everything with the wild costumes. CAP Review |

There is very little action until we get close to the end.. Gratuitous blood and violence.. poor and unhumerous dialogue.. lack of plot twists! The only good bit was Salma Hayek dancing." What Harvey Keitel, George Clooney and Quentin Tarantino were doing in this film is a mystery. |
